Apparel Production Technology
The Aim of the Programme
Textiles and clothing are among the most important sectors of the Turkish economy and foreign trade. There are more than 40,000 textile and clothing companies in Turkey with an estimated workforce of 750,000 employees. Thus, it has significant importance to have high schools, vocational school to train qualified staff who can work in this leading sector.
Apparel Production Technology programme aims to educate and train qualified human resources who are professionalised about the clothing art, clothing design, clothing production and management, and who can work in the fields of production planning, product management, product follow up and merchandising. Throughout the education both theory and practice of the sector is given either via lessons on the schedule or applied lessons at the workshop.
Education Period
Education period is 2 years (with industrial training) and 40 students are accepted to the programme every year.
Students graduate from the school with 120 ECTS credits.
Content
The program focuses on strengthening of key technological functions of apparel industry and understanding of industrial engineering and ergonomic techniques.
The emphasis is on the basic principles of cloth production, ready wear production processes, textile and garment materials and properties, cloth pattern production, computer programmes (CAD / CAM) used in clothing industry, preparing technical reports, and preparing projects.
Our alumni should have:
* ability to learn and process the needed techniques for textile apparel manufacturing
* occupational knowledge and terminology at textile technology and apparel fields
* ability to plan and identify working process and manufacturing steps in textile apparel fields
* ability to know and use the basic materials used in textile apparel

Fashion Design
The Aim of the Programme
Fashion industry is one of the largest, continuously changing and evolving industries, which influences what people wear, all over the world. Fashion designing is the process of creating new trends in apparel and accessories and setting fashion trends according to places, seasons or any such specific theme. Thus, Fashion Design programme intends to cultivate high quality fashion designing and sampling.
Education Period
Education period is 2 years (with industrial training) and 40 students are accepted to the programme every year.
Students graduate from the school with 120 ECTS credits.
Content
In the scope of the programme; stitching techniques, preparation of models, theoretical and practical lessons that include both technique and artistic content are shown to the students. The program gives the ideas for designing a garment for a specific purpose.
On the other hand, this programme develops the ability of designing by using various computerized programs. Also Society of Art History, Fine Arts, Fashion Marketing and Fashion Photographing are the other lessons for the Fashion Design students.

Textile Technology
The Aim of the Programme
The aim of the program is to graduate textile technicians who reveal the expectations of the industry and know all textile production processes including; fibre production, yarn spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing and textile finishing.

Content
The Textile Technology program concentrates on the manufacturing of textile products, which is the key to the fibre, textile and apparel industries. Practical and theoretical courses include textile fibres and properties, modern and traditional yarn spinning processes, formation and structure of woven and knitted fabrics, finishing processes, quality control and production organization.
The alumni should have
* ability to assess the workflow by monitoring, solving problems and be able to take necessary precautions.
* personal effectiveness in application areas by combining theoretical and practical trainings.
* the basic knowledge about yarn spinning, weaving and finishing.
* ability to evaluation textile resources and calculation the costs.
